I.Sports

1) Cycling

i)British cyclist Chris Froome of Team Sky claims his 4th Tour de France title,by defeating Rigoberto Urán of team Cannondale–Drapac,who finished second and Romain Bardet of team AG2R La Mondiale,who finished third.                                                                           

2)Cricket

i)England women’s cricket team beat India women’s cricket team by 9 runs to clinch their 4th ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. English medium-pacer Anya Shrubsole – the player of the match – finished with 6/46 from 9.4 overs, the best bowling figures in any World Cup final.                                                             

ii)English Batswoman Tammy Beaumont was named the ‘Player of the Series’ for the 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup,also finishing with most runs in the tournament (410 runs). South African Dane van Niekerk finished with most number of wickets (15).   

3)Golf

i)American Jordan Spieth wins the 2017 Open Championship at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport,England  ,narrowly defeating fellow American Matt Kuchar by a margin of 3 strokes.
